Frequently Asked Franchise Questions

As you analyze your options and prepare to make an informed business decision, you can learn more information from the frequently asked questions below.

Question:

I have never had my own business before. I wouldn’t even know where to start. Is it difficult to start a window cleaning business with Squeegee Squad?

Answer:

No. As long as you have guidance and know the steps of how to proceed, it is not difficult at all. If you have ever learned a new home improvement project like finishing a bathroom or installing a light fixture, you may understand that the task seems daunting if you have never done it before. With a little guidance, it really boils down to executing a series of simple steps until the project is complete. Starting and growing your own Squeegee Squad window cleaning business is similar in nature. Once you know the steps, it is a fairly straight forward process. Sometimes the lack of knowledge about how to move forward will stop the project or franchise start up before it can even begin.

Question:

There are a lot of different services within the service industry like painting, roofing, siding, etc. What is the difference between window cleaning and other types of services?

Answer:

Window cleaning has a very low price point. Windows get dirty from the moment they are cleaned! This creates a high rate of recurrence within your customer base. Marketing costs are lower as customers repeat. Once you have a customer, they continue to return annually, bi-annually, or even monthly! It is easier to sell lower price point services like window cleaning compared to services with a high price point such as painting, roofing, and siding.

Roofing, siding, and painting have a significantly higher cost per service. A new paint job on a house may cost upwards of $10,000. A new roof may cost $15,000. New siding may cost $20,000. Any of these services are harder to sell to the consumer and the customer may “hem and haw” quite a bit before making a decision to have the work done. These services also have a very low rate of recurrence as paint, roofing, and siding may last from 10 to 30 years. Marketing costs are high as each customer is a new customer.

Question:

Why should I join the Squeegee Squad as opposed to just starting my own independent window cleaning business?

Answer:

Question:

Does the Squeegee Squad franchise system have failures? What happens if I fail in this business?

Answer:

Failure is not an option. If you have chosen to read this question, you need to understand that fear is involved in the decision making process of starting a new business. People sometimes get stuck in the “3% (worst case scenario) mindset”. It is human nature to dwell on all of the things that could go wrong during periods of the decision making process. In reality, most of the things that could go wrong, do not go wrong. Focusing on the 3% of the worst case scenarios is a form of fear induced self deception. People lie to themselves about their abilities to strive and thrive. You can do it! If you are going to be an entrepreneur, you need to focus on being positive and make a decision to execute a gameplan for success. You need to be tough, work hard, and grow as an entrepreneur. The only other option is to remain in the fear driven mediocrity that cripples human aspirations for greatness. You must take a leap and bet on yourself.

In reality, common reasons for business exit are listed below:

  • Death
  • Divorce
  • Drugs & Alcohol
  • Dishonesty
  • Disability

As an entrepreneur, your only acceptable exit strategy should be to sell your business and convert your wealth to cash.

Instead of dwelling on possible reasons for failure, successful entrepreneurs learn to make a habit of focusing on common reasons for success:

  • Determination
  • Ambition
  • Motivation
  • Hard Work
  • People Skills
  • Gumption
  • Positive Leadership
